While assigned as the Cultural Affairs Officer to the U.S. Embassy in Venezuela, I had
the great privilege to program Chief Dan Daly throughout Venezuela as a participant in the U.S. Speaker Program in conjunction
with an exhibit of photos taken in the aftermath of the attacks of 9/11/01. Dan connected well with all our audiences which
ranged from emergency crew workers to middle school children. His message emphasized our common values as members of the human
race, and the importance of realizing that violence provides no resolution for our antagonisms or grievances, but merely creates
the foundation for future conflict. I can recommend him highly to any organization looking for speakers with insights into
how to break the cycle of violence and partisanship that is afflicting so many aspects of modern life in this world.
